Will I be brave enough to attempt this cake?

I've been feeling like baking a lot lately. Just trying to figure out what shall I make today... and while looking through the internets, I came across this cake!

The layers are so beautiful! I can just taste the frosting ... mmm soft and meringue-y!
The instructions from this blog doesn't seem too hard!
Love those pennent flags too!
Perfect for a tea party!

How gorgeous is this cake, and there IS a tutorial for it too. Though this one maybe a little bit too much to ask from me. Still if anyone else is brave enough to try it, I'll be your willing guinea pig!

Thanks to call-me-cupcake.blogspot.com for all these gorgeous pics!

I heart mermaids. Always have done since I was a wee one.

Found these 5 ways to become a mermaid. But first, I need a tail!

This is one amazing boy's bedroom. (And before I thought Ikea kids bedrooms were pretty neat.)

So much imagination has gone into it, I'd even love to have a bedroom like this now!

Time for another coffee ?

I am actually quite sensitive to caffeine, a little bit of it, and I feel like this guy at the end :)

Tea is okay, but in moderation .. but coffee, uh, no thanks :)

For all you late 20's-early 30's girls out there who were fans of The Baby Sitters Club in your younger years ... did you ever wonder what happened to the characters when they grew up?

I loved their books when I was little, I even had the boardgame! hehe!

Finally, I have attempted and completed sewing project no.5 from Freckled Nest.  (This now links to a new and updated blog/website but I can't seem to find a link on site to their classes) I was initially daunted by the fact that I had to sew such thick material, in this case it was vinyl, but I bit the bullet and did it.

Here it is:  The Rollup Caddy

All rolled up, very handy for carrying brushes, stationery, craft and some hardware tools.

The caddy opened up. A flap covers and protects the objects from falling out.

The inside with all the tools neatly in place :)
I learnt so much doing this tutorial. Getting the right needles for vinyl work, (I used needles meant for leather, as there is a project coming up that uses leather - gasp!), using the right stitches and generally getting to know this interesting material! I had a lot of fun and completed it within a few hours! It had taken me a couple of months to get the courage to attempt this project so I am surprised and relieved that it took such a short amount of time. Yay!

So onto the next project... curtains!
